Conversations with my Femininity#Preamble

Hey there lovely people,

Thank you for sending sunshine here on Justified Ecstasy.

A short series on Conversations with my femininity is my new little big project, so here’s  a preamble to bring us up to speed.

A popular saying;

‘’Boys will be boys,

and girls will be girls’’.

However, it’s a tragic story to be considered as (ambitious female) and so much more because society always throws its uninvited opinions at one female that dares to discover the heroines within her.

Patsy-8

This is the back story behind #Conversations with my femininity.

The movie, Wonder Woman, also catapulted me into the necessity of these conversations. The glorious scenes suggest women too can be superheroes. (the ghetto in me begs to be heard; allow me to say this movie is bomb-Diggy-bomb)

I must emphasize not all heroes have to be women to deserve a special mention. As females, we crave no mortal honour but spread love all around us.

Diana (the lead character in this movie) is raised on an all-female paradise Island as a demigod among the Amazons. She is struggling to understand how to live in a world that makes no sense to her.

Her motivation is not attributed to her physical strength, mystical prowess or break taking beauty but her emotional nature where good triumphs evil.

She meets a man, Steve (a spy) and he guides her through new world, and of course he gets love-struck and things get awkward.

Awkward entails what Gary Smalley writes;“life is relationships, everything else is just details.”

The train of thoughts in my mind have stationed themselves as deep corded clanging bells going off toot.

How can we all be super if the world we live in does not reflect that? The woman cannot afford to be so man-like. The woman must be womanly and never tomboyish. This is what society is shoving down our throats.

I ask you society; How womanly is womanly?

For how long will we violate the truth that we are passengers on a journey whose destination is equality?

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is fully  aboard on this train and  asks these mind boggling questions in a different manner when she says,”

We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller
We say to girls: “You can have ambition, but not too much
You should aim to be successful, but not too successful
Otherwise, you will threaten the man”
Because I am female, I am expected to aspire to marriage
I am expected to make my life choices
Always keeping in mind that marriage is the most important
Now, marriage can be a source of joy and love and mutual support
But why do we teach girls to aspire to marriage
And we don’t teach boys the same?
We raise girls to see each other as competitors
Not for jobs or for accomplishments, which I think can be a good thing

But for the attention of men

These are the kinds of  conversations that we’ll be having.

Back to movie, Diana invites us to fight.

Let’s fight these crazy notions.

Actually ,She says,

“what I do is not up to you

I fight.

And Only love can save the world.

This is why I fight

This is my mission”

Blessings and Bliss

on your journey becoming

#Wonderwoman

#WonderWomanEA and beyond.

Yay! Looking forward to more on this. Rightly said. It’s unfortunate we(famales) are being raised and educated just to be good wifes to our husbands. We got educated for the society and not for a man! This can sometimes be frustrating when you attain a certain age and you are still not married. You may be havi6a great impact on people but that is overlooked. They will only bother you with marriage when men will be left to freely enjoy their lives without such disturbance on marriage. Wish you all the best dear.

I can’t wait for this to begin!

Women will always be made to see themselves lower than what they should be but it is rightly up to us to break free from this norm and prove that society can and will never limit us!!!

I should see Wonder Woman already…
